“Crofty and Karun” 2023

April 3/4/5 2023

Immediately following on from the exhilarating Australian Grand Prix we welcomed the ‘dynamic’ duo, David ‘Crofty’ Croft and Karun Chandhok to Perth for three events.

Leading up to the events, Crofty had been involved in several media events in Perth including popular radio interviews with 96FM, Nova and SEN, and print coverage through The West Australian newspaper. Needless to say, there were many more outlets who wanted to interview this naturally gifted speaker and entertainer!

On Monday 3 April and Tuesday 4 April, Crofty and Karun presented their interactive F1 show to two sell-out crowds at the All Saints’ College Centre for Performing Arts.

The crowds had spent months anticipating the return of Crofty, and with his new ‘sidekick’, Karun, the two great entertainers put on an amazing show full of interactive quizzes, competitions, and surveys. The shows are always full of fun and laughs, with Crofty and Karun delivering humorous commentary and byplay with the audience.

Karun proved to be a popular addition to the show with his expert insights and obvious sense of humour.

All the usual favourite parts of the show were included, with the addition of audience quizzes and the participation rate of over 80% showed just how engaged the audience was in this unique event. Karun picked up on the fact that Crofty got a couple of the questions wrong to the great amusement of the crowd – followed by Karun reminding the quiz producers that from the multiple-choice options – Monza was actually in Italy, not ‘Spain’ as shown!

With over 850 people attending the two shows, the popularity of Crofty and his shows looks like continuing for many years to come.

On the Wednesday, following the sell-out shows, Crofty and Karun took part in an event we called “Crofty & Karun Unplugged” at the Old Courthouse Restaurant in Fremantle, with just 60 special guests whose tickets provided them with a 3-course meal and an intimate chat with the two F1 stars.

Karun was dropped off at the airport at around 8:30pm that same evening to fly back to the UK, whilst Crofty continued to regale the remaining guests with his humorous tales – not always restricted to F1!

The following day, Crofty wound down with a leisurely trip to Rottnest Island with Wendy for a tour and a meal, followed by the obligatory ‘quokka selfie’, before returning to the UK that same evening.

We are already planning for more shows in 2024.

You can't go to Rottnest without getting a Quokka selfie!
